The Story Behind Ispahan
Born in Isfahan, Iran, Chef Farah Esfahani has dedicated more than 35 years to mastering and sharing the art of Persian cuisine.
Her culinary journey began in 1989, when she trained under some of Iran’s most respected culinary teachers, including Behjat Kasaiyan and the renowned Roza Montazemi. She later earned professional diplomas in Iranian and international cuisine and spent many years teaching cooking and the art of table presentation in Tehran.
After moving to Canada in 2011, Farah brought her passion and experience to Montreal. In 2016, she opened her own restaurant with her son Arsalan, who grew up learning the traditions and techniques of Persian cooking by her side.
Named after Farah’s hometown, Restaurant Ispahan is a celebration of authentic Persian food, family traditions, and warm Iranian hospitality. Every dish reflects Farah’s lifelong passion for cooking and her desire to share the flavours and cultural richness of Iran with Montreal.
Through the restaurant and her Persian cookbook, Farah continues to preserve traditional recipes and introduce a new generation to the beauty of Iranian cuisine.
